The woodland nature discovery book, is the story of poor Yorick the mouse and his unfortunate encounter with Macduff the owl.
The book is called ‘Scenes that Play Out in the Woods’ and is an introduction the goings on in the woods. Although not a happy tale for the mouse it’s a fun way to learn about food chains! The book is divided into two parts. The first written in rhyme is the story of our friend Yorick the mouse and how one day he disappears and we later discover an owl pellet. The second part of the book is a look at owls and owl pellets and an introduction to the six owls likely to be found in Britain.
The story is written by Ian. The illustrations to colour are all beautifully drawn by Ben. The aim of the book is for youngsters to read or be read to and learn about woodland life and discover more about owls
