The Image

Dock – Rumex obtusifolius. These large leaved beauties with their vibrant seed heads are common in fairly neglected areas. They are usually only fully appreciated after an altercation with a nettle, when the relieving rub from the dock leaf is a blessing. But so many of our native invertebrates are reliant on this underrated plant.

The wild corner is a celebration of our lesser loved but so important wildflowers and a plea to allow just a small corner of your garden to run wild, allowing these important plants to flourish. You can read more about it here.
