Butterfly and Nettle nature discovery book, is the story of Annette and her encounter with Gretel a nettle.
Annette is a young girl, who comes across a nettle in her garden, while pursuing a butterfly. Annette is stung by the nettle and is very cross. But when she learns all about the butterflies that depend on nettles for their survival, she soon changes her mind.
The story is written by Ian, to make it more fun and accessible, he’s written it in rhyme. The illustrations to colour are all beautifully drawn by Ben. The aim of the book is for youngsters to read or be read to and learn about biodiversity and the importance of ‘weeds’ in a fun and informative way. The second part of the book shares fascinating facts about the butterfly lifecycle plus all the insects dependent on ‘weeds’.
