Pocket Carder Bee T-shirt
Introducing the new Carder Bee T-shirt to support the work of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust. 10% of profits from these T-shirts will go to their Birds and Bees project.
About the project
“The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust is a charity dedicated to keeping all that is special and unique about the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park landscape here for future generations to enjoy. We care deeply for conservation, community, culture and our coast and want to lead the way in protecting them. In partnership with landowners and farmers, our Birds and the Bees project aims to restore, establish, and improve habitats for various threatened species, such as birds, bees and butterflies. We will focus on reversing the decline of biodiversity within and surrounding the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park by giving priority to the restoration, creation and safeguarding of meadows, woodlands and wetlands.”
The Pembrokeshire Coast is a very special place for us and we’re delighted to be able to support them in this way.
The Bee
Carder bees are a group of 5 species of British bumblebees which habitually comb, or ‘card’, together material around the nest to cover the honey and brood cells. They skilfully knit a nest out of leaves and other materials. This pale straw-grey, almost greenish, and particularly stripy bee can be identified by a dark band, like a little waistcoat, between its wings and a pale orange tail. The queens, workers and males all look quite similar. They emerge later in the year than most bumblebees and are unlikely to be seen until May (queens) or even June (workers). The T-shirt
The T-shirts are made from 100% beautifully soft organic cotton, printed with planet friendly water based inks. The T-shirts are in a dusky blue colour with the bee printed in white inks
We will hand print your T-shirt to order, here in Ceredigion. We only use water based inks, which adds to the softness of the Bee T-shirt and also means you can iron over the design.
Please allow up to six days for us to print your T-shirt and get it ready to post.
