We had the best seal encounter at the weekend! The

We had the best seal encounter at the weekend! The seal pup was having a wonderful frolic in the sea, then he got a bit peckish and called to mum who came ashore to feed him.

It was such a joy to be able to watch them, but even though we were at a distance up on the cliffs, mum was very wary of us.

While we were there some swimmers came into the cove, oblivious to the seals there. There was also a rockfall in the cove. These beauties face such a perilous start in life.

It’s been amazing to be part of the sustainable fashion week activities this week organised by @sustfashwales
On Wednesday we were part of a showcase(which is now available to watch on YouTube) so many amazing people and brands took part. Ian spoke about the blog post which was written for us by Marine plastic scientist Dr Winnie Jones about how micro plastics from our clothes are reaching creatures such as the deep-sea brittle star deep on the sea floor. Also as part of the event @creative_orange_studio shared a credit reel showing everyone involved in making a pair of jeans 🤯🤯🤯 so incredibly thought provoking and well worth a watch!

So this crazy fella still needs a name! We had some brilliant suggestions when we shared him in stories! Our favourites are Trashington, Scrappy, Paulution, Mr Bomplastic and Earl! Please tell us your favourite!

Just a bit of background, he’s made entirely from plastic found on the beaches locally here in Wales. He’s helping us highlight plastic pollution issues to our younger audience and he beautifully modelled the children’s leatherback turtle t-shirt at last weekends green carpet catwalk!

As a follow on from yesterday’s waspy post, this beauty very kindly joined us for breakfast and beautifully demonstrates that the German wasp has three black dots on their face! We’re hoping a common wasp will be as obliging soon!
